ContactBook was designed to allow its users to share contact details – choosing with whom, and which details, they wish to share. In order to protect the confidentiality of your information, we process and maintain your information using physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards.

When we say “you”, “your” or “yours”, it refers to any “Member” or “Visitor” as defined in this Privacy Policy.

When we say “Member”, it refers to anyone who signs-up/registers or create an account with us.

When we say “Visitor”, it refers to anyone who visits our website or uses our Services without creating an account.


Who Are Covered By ContactBook's Privacy Policy?

ContactBook’s Privacy Policy applies to www.ContactBookApp.com ContactBook’s mobile app, all other ContactBook platform technology, developer platforms and other products and services.

Please note that this Privacy Policy applies to any Member OR Visitor. Any information that you provide us, upload, or sync with our Services is covered by this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

This Privacy Policy does NOT cover the practices of third-party websites, services, businesses and applications. So please review the Privacy Policy of third-party services that you access through our website and app.

For your better understanding and guidance and to have an informed choice when using our Services, this Privacy Policy describes and outlines what information we collect, how we collect and process that information, how we use the information we collect, how we protect your privacy, and how we give notice of the changes in this Privacy Policy.


What Information We Have

We collect and/or store different types of Information provided by our users (whether a Member OR Visitor) to provide customized service, to personalize users’ experience, to enhance security, and to monitor and improve the Services we provide. By using our Services, you expressly agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The information you provide us and the information collected from you are hosted by Amazon Web Services. By using our Services, you consent and authorize us to collect and process your information in Singapore. You also consent to the transfer, processing, storage and use of your information in Singapore and in any other country or territory we operate with the assurance that we will protect the data with the same standard as it would be protected in Singapore. Note that some of the countries where we operate have different privacy and protection laws, rules and regulation on the right of the government to access data, which may be different from your resident country.

ContactBook does not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a child’s parent or guardian becomes aware or gains knowledge that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, we may be notified at – so that we may delete the information the child has provided.


Information You Provide Us

We collect information about you when you register/sign-up for an account with us. In order to create an account, you need to agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. We also require you to provide us with at least your name, a password and e-mail address. We use this information to identify you and to protect your account information.

Once you have registered for an account with us, you have the option to provide additional information on your ContactBook account to enhance your account/profile and better promote yourself and/or your business. This may include providing your professional details (for individuals - your position, company name, company address, and additional e-mail addresses; and for companies- company profile (name, company address, e-mail address, and phone numbers).

Depending on your selected setting, you may customize the availability of the information you share with others depending on what information you want to share and who you want to share the particular information with.

You agree that you accept the Terms of Use and that you consent to the processing of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy upon signing up or creating a ContactBook account. Please note that your name, registered country, contact ID and profile photo (if you have one) are always public and searchable. If you do not agree to this, you may delete your account anytime to discontinue being a Member and having your name/username publicly available.

We also use your information to communicate with you about our services such as sending you e-mails about updates and offers of our services and to respond to your requests.

When you send us a request, we may keep your e-mail message, e-mail address and contact information for us to reply to your request. When you contact our customer service, we may also collect information we need to respond to your query and resolve your issues.


Information Collected from You

When you use or visit our site (whether as Visitor OR Member) such as when you make a search, click ads, install our mobile application, view our Members’ publicly available profiles, we may collect information sent to us by your browser depending on the permissions you’ve granted. This may include, your mobile device’s unique ID number and geographic location, your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, privacy preference, language preference, the pages of our site that you visit, the buttons, controls and ads you clicked on, referring site, the time and date of your visit, the duration of your visit to our site. We collect this information to increase your experience on ContactBook, to better understand how Users use our services and to improve our services.

You also agree for us to receive information when you log-in to another third-party website or third-party application using your ContactBook account.

We may also receive information about pages that have loaded in your web browser when you visit third-party websites that integrate our services to help us understand trends in our users’ needs which enables us to develop new functionalities and to tailor our services. Also, we may send aggregated data to third-party websites that integrate our services to help them monitor traffic to their website.

We may also use your geographical location when it is turned on to connect you to other Members within or near your geographical location


Information We Collect When You Sync Other Services To Your Contactbook Account

You also have the option to sync other services to your ContactBook account. For example, you may sync your address book into our services. Once you choose this option, we will store all the information contained in your address book (your contacts, your contacts’ details) to help you manage and integrate your contacts with our Services. This will help us assist you in managing your contacts by identifying which contacts are already Members of our Services but are not yet in your ContactBook network and suggesting persons you may know and wish to invite to be part of your ContactBook list.

ContactBook is mainly designed to help you share your contact information to as many people as you choose, subject to your preferred settings. You may edit or delete any synched information at any time.

Please note that any information that you input/upload or sync with our Services is covered by the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy. You may, at any time remove information that you don't want to be available.


Using Third-Party Sites

By collecting your information, we are able to understand how you use our services and how you interact and connect using are services. We use the information we collect to personalize content; diagnose and fix problems; and promote, deliver and improve our services.

For example, when you visit a third-party site while you are logged-in to our Services, we use the information to recommend suitable and relevant content to you. We also use the information you provide us to create shortcuts and suggest people through your shared contacts.

Like most sites and apps, we use cookies or other similar technologies to administer the website, to collect information about our user base and to identify our users, know your interests, increase and improve our security and services and provide advertisements. How We Protect Your Personal Information

We protect your information by making security (physical, electronic, and procedural) arrangements to prevent unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or other similar risks.

For example, data access to your information stored in our Services is password-protected. To further enhance the security of your information, we have built in network and web application firewalls, encryption in transit with TLS across all services, access tokens protecting the identity and privileges associated with user accounts as well as SSL encryption which allows sensitive information to be transmitted securely.

While we strive to provide appropriate and reasonable security for information that we process and maintain, the internet is not a perfect environment that is 100 percent secure as there is no security system that can prevent all potential security breaches. Therefore, we cannot guarantee against all security breaches and cannot guarantee that your information may not be accessed, collected, disclosed, copied, or disposed in case of breach of our security safeguards.

You also agree that by using our Services, you consent that in case of acquisition by another company of our company, its business, or its assets, the acquiring company will possess the Personal data and other information that ContactBook collected (and has stored) and for the acquiring company to assume all the rights and obligations regarding your personal data. By using our Services, you agree and consent to this disclosure.

Please note that we engage third-party service providers that provide us services such as, development, maintenance, marketing an advertising, analysis, security, and audit to help us improve our services and enhance user experience. We may share your private personal information with such service providers subject to, and in accordance, with this Privacy Policy, and only for the purpose of providing services on our behalf and for no other purpose. By using our Services, you agree and consent to this disclosure.

ContactBook may disclose your information if we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to: comply with law, regulation, subpoena, or other legal process, whether in Singapore or any other jurisdiction; to prevent or address fraud; prevent harm; protect our users, protect our rights and properties.

ContactBook reserves the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
